Can Captain Picard make a deal with the devil? The Federation science station on Ventax II sends out a distress signal when the entire planet plunges into mass hysteria when the Ventaxian devil, Ardra, reappears to lay claim to the planet and its inhabitants. Originally intended for the “Phase II” series, this script was dusted off for Season Two due to the writer’s strike, but ended up needing extensive rewrites to make it work for Picard and Company.
