Kamin makes a startling discovery about the star around which his home world, Kataan. He takes on a life-long quest to save the memory of his dying civilization, in what is easily one of the best episodes of the series (if not, the franchise). This outing of Star Trek: The Next Generation won the 1993 Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation- a first for the series.
